Wanna share your Wi-Fi connectivity with others? What if you are the only one capable of connecting to a certain hotspot but the others are not? The answer here is to turn your phone as a hotspot. Ofcourse, your phone needs to be either Android or iOS powered or both to do such ability. I’m here to teach you on how to turn your phone into a hotspot.
For iOS users:
1.) You need your phone to be jailbroken. Maybe you are wondering why? The reason is that you need to contact your carrier to enable this feature and ofcourse, that will cost you money. If you want the free one, jailbreak your phone. If you are worrying whether it is illegal, IT IS VERY LEGAL. It won’t void your warranty, and it won’t mess your phone to the point of bricking it. If you are already jailbroken, proceed to the next step.
2.) Open your Cydia and download MyWi. MyWi is a hotspot utility that enables your phone to be unofficially turned into a hotspot. You can try it for free but if you exceeded the trial, MyWi costs 20$. You can set passwords, change your SSID settings, make security settings, etc. Pretty convenient right? Now surf to your heart’s content!
For Android users:
1.) Get Barnacle Wi-Fi Tether on the Android Market or on AppBrain. After installation, launch it. There you will see a large “Start” button on the top of your screen. This activates the Wi-Fi tethering function but first, you better to setup a password before doing it.
2.) Click on Menu and “Settings” to launch the options Menu.

5.) There is also an option to channel change option of your computer is unable to find your phone’s tethered Wi-Fi hotspot.
