Windows is making it easy for everyone to upgrade to Windows 8. You can upgrade from your Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 8. You can choose from 131 markets to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro for just $39.99. There will also be an optional Windows Media Centre added feature that you can add on your new Windows 8. Just click the “add features” option on your Windows 8 after upgrade.

The Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant will help you through the upgrade process. It will provide the simple step-by-step process from purchase to download until installation.

It will first check your PC if it is ready to install Windows 8. It will provide you with a complete list of compatibility report that will let you know of things to do before and after the installation.

It will also give you application or device compatibility issues. It would also ask you if you want to keep your current Windows installation. If you are upgrading from Windows 7, you will be able to keep your Windows settings, personal files, and apps. If you are upgrading from Windows Vista, you can keep your  Windows settings and personal files, and lastly, if you are from Windows XP, you will just be able to bring along your personal files. You can have the option to bring nothing along too. You can format your hard drive too before installing Windows 8.

It will then proceed to the download process. The Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant will help you through the download process. It will give you options to whether to pause and continue your download at any time.

After the download, you will be given the choice whether to install the upgrade now or to install it later by using your desktop or by creating your own media. If you choose to create your own media, you will be able to make a bootable image to your USB or .ISO file which can be burned to a DVD.

Microsoft just made Windows upgrade easy, simple, flexible, and faster. They also expanded the ability to download to over 100 countries with 37 languages.

The upgrade will continue until January 31st, 2013.
