Guys I’ve just subscribed with Bayan Tel Broadband, Plan 999 – 512 mbps – I will be updating this post on thursday for the review so make sure to come back to this site. I just got the Flash drive unit yesterday and they said that it will be activated within 48 hours.
I also asked the Bayan tel guy who delivered the Unit if I can use it outside the metro but he said No and it’s only good in here in MM. You can also use this even if you’re living in a high rise tower. ( I was supposed to get a wi-tribe subscription but they said that there will be no signal if you’re living on the 12th floor and above, I’m on the 18th floor so I decided to try bayantel)
There’s also a 15 day trial so you can get your money back if you’re not satisfied with the service, otherwise you’ll be tied with a 2 year contract.
One last thing, the Bayantel technician told me signal is very poor over in Valenzuela.
Happy week ahead!
AFTER 2 DAYS:
Speed is pretty decent if you’re just browsing the net reading articles , but if you do your business online and you do a lot of download/uploading, I wouldn’ t recommend this. I also had to refresh the page twice just to access my wordpress admin interface. hmmm. I also tried to upload 2 pics in my facebook account, it takes about 2-3 minutes to upload 1 photo. But overall it’s ok, I can live with this, this isn’t as fast as destiny broadband but this will do.
And since this is just a flash drive, I will be able to save a bit when it comes to electric consumption since I won’t have to plug in my modem. But hey, this is just the first day, so I’ll be updating this post again if there’s any change in its performance.
AFTER 2 WEEKS:
GUYS, FORGIVE ME IF IM ON CAPS, THE CONNECTION IS JUST TERRIBLE THAT I HAVE TO GO TO A COFFEE SHOP EVERYDAY, THIS BAYANTEL IS USELESS, TOTAL CRAP. LOAD TIME TAKES FOREVER, IT DISCONNECTS LIKE ALMOST EVERY 30 MINUTES. I CAN’T SEND A SIMPLE 2 MB JPEG FILE THROUGH EMAIL OR YOUSENDIT. IT’S REALLY FRUSTRATING. I’M RETURNING THIS PIECE OF JUNK.

Hi Keizzer11,
Scant tested it in eastwood. It might be depending on the location, I suggest you try it first.

thanks for sharing your story using bayan broadband, i just want to ask where are you located? because as far as i know it also depends on location for you to be able get consistent signal like other broadband? (not sure..hehe.) coz im also planning to get one but still reading reviews on this particular broadband. Im using a laptop so I preferred using broadband instead of DSL, but then if this broadband is not consistent then i have no choice but to get dsl instead. thanks again and hoping for your response. (^_^)

dude, bayan dsl is different from bayan broadband. With dsl, you can have speeds of 1mbps, 1.5 mbps, going up. Im on bayandsl with 1mbps at 999 a month, and Im very satisfied with it. I work online and use skype a lot, and as long as your computer’s specs are good, bayandsl will work just fine. Now with bayan broadband, they use that usb device similar to smart or globe tattoo, it can only reach 512 mbps. Thats the difference.. thanks for posting your experience. im not getting that piece of crap too
