Tinnitus, Tinitus, Tinnitis : How I treated it however you spell it
Written by scant on July 3rd, 2009Many people misspell Tinnitus as Tinitus or Tinnitis but to them, It doesn’t really matter. The most important thing is how to get rid of the continous and annoying ringing in the ears and end the suffering. I’ve personally had this since I was in highschool but I didn’t know that it was called Tinittus until last year, when I consulted with my ear, nose and throat doctor at The Medical City.
When I was in college the non-stop beeping in my right ear didn’t really bother me as I only hear it when it’s really quiet, like when it’s twelve in the midnight and I’m about to go to sleep. I’d thought that it’s just normal to have and it’s not really something that I should be worried about. I don’t know but some of my friends even call tinnitus “sound of silence”. Well, I know for sure it’s more than that.
My ” tinitus ” or Tinnitus became very alarming last year when I could hear it even while I jog in a busy and noisy street in the morning. There were times that I can hear it even while I’m on the phone talking to my girlfriend. The bad thing is that it kind of gave me some temper issues, I would get easily irritated even by petty things because of the annoying ringing and hissing sound in my right ear.
If you’re experiencing that same thing, keep reading, I might have what you’re looking for, It worked for me, it might work for you too.
I decided to visit a doctor when my ” tinitis ” is already affecting my work. So after about 5-10 minutes of being interviewed by the good doctor, He straightfordwardly told me that there’s no cure for tinnitus yet and I can try taking Vitamin B. To be honest, I wasn’t really surpised as I had been browsing the world wide web for days trying to find a tinnitus treatment before consulting with him. I thanked him and left the clinic still hoping that there’s gotta be a way to beat this monster noise-making machine inside my head.
So I went back to the pages that I bookmarked about tinnitus and reviewed all of them. In fact there’s a lot of suggestions (not proven yet) but here are the things that I took my chances on and I did to beat tinitus, okay I mispelled it sorry, forgive me I’m experimenting on something
1. The first thing you got to do to knock down Tinnitus is Exercise! – Has something to do with blood circulation
2. Have enough time of sleep.
3. Don’t stress yourself too much, have some time to relax.
4. Listen to Classical Music – This may be corny but it somehow works
5. This is the most important thing to Knock out “ Tinnitis “, DON’T EVER THINK THAT YOU HAVE TINNITUS.
I’m not a medical guy but #5 works best for me. Everytime I hear that sound, I try to ignore it as soon as possible. Shift your attention to something else. The more you think of it, the louder the sound will be. This may not be easy at first but you’ll get used to it and eventually, you’ll forget that that sound exists as long as you ignore it. In fact, If I weren’t writing this article, I would’ve forgotten that I have tinitus but I don’t worry about that anymore as I now know how to control its existence.
That’s it folks, you’ll lose nothing if you try but if it works, then good for you. Again, no guarantee that these steps will cure it but these are the things that I did to eliminate tinitus as others spell it. If you have other suggestions on how to control “ tinnitis “, please let us know and help millions of people around the world who suffer from Tinnitus.
