Here’s a video of  the “Concert King” Martin Nievera’s controversial performance of the Philippine national anthem, Lupang Hinirang moments before Pacquiao Demolished Hatton on May 2nd, 2009 at the MGM grand in Las Vegas.

The National Historical Institute was very much against this rendition saying that Nievera’s version was a disrespect for the original composition of the National Anthem. In the interview on DZMM, Martin said that he related the music to how it was in the battlefield. He began singing the anthem by which he narrates as a fighter walking, then running and finally flying towards victory.
